I have blogged about Susan Hilferty on The Drama Teacher last year when I reported several of my Year 8 Drama students were researching her work, creating a website about her using iWeb for a class task.
The New York Times has an excellent article on Hilferty’s current work designing costumes for the new Broadway musical Wonderland, a contemporary look at Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through The Looking Glass.
Susan Hilferty won a Tony Award for her amazing costume designs in Wicked on Broadway and this interview looks at the her creative processes in the various stages of costume design and construction for the character Queen of Hearts in Wonderland.
Wonderland is currently in previews and opens at the Marquis Theatre, Broadway, on 17 April.
She is really a talented and amazing costume designer.
