Freesound is a huge library of nearly 400,000 sound effects and soundscapes ready for use in your next drama project or lesson!
The majority of these sounds are completely free to use and share under the Creative Commons Public Domain Licence, while other sounds are still free but require a simple attribution, with a small number of sounds only allowed to be used for non-commercial purposes (i.e. no selling the sounds for monetary compensation).
Sounds can be easily searched by name, tag or file type and many contributors to Freesounds have created themed sound packs. The website contains a FAQ section and community forum. Free registration to the site is all that is needed to start downloading your sounds. Enjoy!
